Here’s a bunch of photos that I’ve taken in the first week here in South-East Asia. Don’t miss the videos on the bottom of the blog post!
A small view of the traffic in Bangkok, trust me, it’s nothing
Reflections of light in the roof of a bridge that we passed under in a canal boat
And here are some of the canals in Bangkok, I didn’t really realize the extent that the city had these but it was really fun traveling about in them.
Although the life “vests” left something to be desired. They are literally floating pads, and you don’t want to be floating in the canals in Bangkok.
View from one of our trips in the canal boats. This one heading towards some market.
And one somewhat artistic photo because why not.
Passing another canal boat, they actually moved at a pretty decent speed and could at times be somewhat rough.
Madelen heading into Bobae Market.
Eating some street food from one of the many vendors that litters the road side in Bangkok. The variety is quite something.
Panorama view towards the east of Bangkok.
A view out into Bangkok.
And a panorama of the sunset from Wat Saket.
And another view of the setting sun.
Walking home towards our hostel and food.
The aftermath of dinner. The girls had massaman curry and I had a pad thai.
Visiting the temples of Bangkok, this one from Wat Pho with it’s 46 meter long Buddha chillaxing on the floor.
Tossing coins into some bowls, a whole heck of a lot of them too. Not really sure what they symbolize though.
A view from the back of a tuk-tuk.
A sort of selfie from the back of the tuk-tuk.
And then we went trekking to the Hollow Mountain Extreme Adventure Park (now that’s a mouthful). Super sweaty but with a nice view.
Yep.
This is Madelen hanging and dangling from the Emperor swing some 90 meters above ground.
And some hanging again.
This is Madelen being lowered into the jungle beneath us. Your heart was really racing at this point.
And coming back up the path/down from the air.
A look up towards the platform from which we jumped, the platform is suspended some 60 meters above the ground below.
A small view of the basecamp, just underneath the swing.
Walking down onto the platform, you could really feel the height from here.
Dangling your feet over the edge. Slight vertigo setting in now.
Maybe even upside down.
